So Boston College just had its ArtsFest 2014 gallery show two weeks ago and a few of my collage pieces were selected to be in the Stokes tent exhibit. A professor for the Harvard University Arts dept. came in gave many of the pieces an award of recognition.

We had a Q&A session with all the artists and I was told to talk a bit about the bird piece I did, entitled “Capture the Crown”, which was LOADS of fun to construct! A shoutout to Fabulousanima and her dad for the bird book that aided in this idea!

The installation features 5, handcrafted and metal-leafed paper made North American birds, all of which have prominent crests.(I’m playing with the theme of royalty.) The Cardinal, the Bluejay, the White-crested Laughing Thrush, The Phainopepla(seen with crown), and the Tufted Titmouse.

There is a possibility the cardinal may be sold next thursday. We shall see :0~
